House work

Here are a couple of before pictures of our house:

This here is our beautiful bathroom. I know, you're jealous. We are currently working on taking down all the wallpaper so we can repaint it.

This is our bedroom. We just painted it a dark gray that looks almost like a blue. I meant to paint it light gray but it turned out a lot darker than I was expecting. Oops. I'm not very good at picking out paint colors yet. I'll bring after pictures when it is all done and ready to go.

Nice

The best thing about getting up early is when it gets to about 8/8:30ish, you can look back on the morning and see all the things you've managed to accomplish in the past two hours before a lot of people have even got out of bed.

Why, O Why

Ok, so obviously I've been really bad at posting lately. Why? Well, the answer is simple. I am getting married in one month from tomorrow. Absolutely crazy. I still have about 1000 wedding decorations to make (you think I'm joking, don't you?) and a house to get ready. Maybe if I have time, I'll put up some before pictures of the house. We don't have any after pictures to speak of yet. I'm still trying to pick all of my paint colors. So far, I've only managed to pick two of them. It would also be nice to have a couch and a bed before we get married. I keep scouring the newspaper, craigslist and consignment stores for good options.

I refuse to apologize for my lack of posting. If you have a problem with it, you'll have to tell me in person which means coming to my wedding.

One Year Ago

One year ago:

• I graduated college
• Wrote a letter to a random guy saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
• I packed up all my belongings and moved across the country
• I was looking for a job

Today

• I wrote letter to a not-so-random guy saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Funny how we still write letters to each other even though we see each other multiple times a week.
• I am trying to buy furniture and paint my house so I can move in after the wedding
• I am planning a wedding
• I have a couple of great jobs that all kind of found me

God is good indeed.

Life Update

I know that I don't really take much time to update my blog. So here goes. This post is dedicated to Lindsey not Lou.

Aaron and I hope to get the keys to our "new" rental house on Monday. And so we will start painting and cleaning. We still need to find tons of furniture. The other day we found a nice washer and dryer at a garage sale. It was a great deal and we got to see them working and there didn't seem to be any problems. The only reason the owner was selling it was because they were moving. Funny how things like a washer and dryer seem exciting. Instead of shopping for clothes, shoes and books, my time and money are spent on things for the house. Strange. This must be a sign that I'm getting old and boring.

In other news, Aaron is old. His birthday is this week and he will be 7 whole years older than me for about 1 1/2 months. I always tease him that he's close to 30 and I'm barely in my 20's and so that makes him almost a decade older than me. In reality, it doesn't bother me at all that he is older and, in fact, I like it better that way. He has lots of gray hair that makes him distinguished looking. Ha, while I was writing that last sentence I almost wrote "extinguished" instead of "distinguished." So much for being an somewhat intelligent person.

Since I am so bad at posting, I will give you a chance to help me improve. In the comment section of this post, feel free to leave me a comment suggesting one subject for me to write about. If I like your suggestion and I have some free time, I might just take it and actually update my blog.

The cutest thing ever...
