Blackberry Jam
Kelsey loves homemade jam like nothing else and since I find it downright tasty, we decided to make a batch of blackberry jam.
Step #1: Pick tons of blackberries. Since we only made one batch this wasn't too hard.
Step #2: Make the jam mainly by crushing the berries in the blender.
Step #3: Eat tons of jam every day! We used the less sugar Sure-Jell. Kelsey really wants to try it with all the sugar so I think we're making another batch tomorrow!

Recitation Cooking Attempt #2
So I tried to make food for recitation today and it actually at least kind of succeeded. I made blackberry zucchini bread. Of course, the zucchini and blackberries were hand picked only minutes before I began to make the bread. The bread tasted quite good, but was a little crumbly. Also, all the blackberries sunk to the bottom. I will have to fix that in the future. On whole, my recitation deemed it quite a success.

Wholy muffins...
Once upon a time, I thought I would be the amazing senior that I am and make muffins for all my little sophomore buddies in my 7:30 Latin recitation. Since the W's have an abundance of blackberries, I though that blackberry muffins would fit the bill exactly. I was so excited about them and they looked so nice when the came out of the oven. That is until I tried to take them out of thepan.

Homeade failures vs. packaged perfection
"Others learned to treat their kitchens the way Julia Child did: as a place where they were in charge, where even failures tasted better to them than packaged perfection."

Zucchini
So recently I've been experimenting with zucchini and summer squash. On today's menu is pasta with spaghetti sauce, roasted zucchini and squash, and feta cheese.

Lesson 1.1
Don't keep cinnamon in the pantry for a whole summer because then everything else in the pantry will taste like cinnamon.
