It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

The only Christmas decoration we have are some Christmas lights which we are not even sure where/how to hang them.  There is an easy answer however and that was to scour the internet for good decorations.  I found this stocking tutorial and fell in love.

I love the bright colors that they chose to use!

I couldn't find any fabrics that I loved that weren't ridiculously expensive.   So I went to the sales rack at Hancock Fabrics (love) and picked up the fabric for my stockings all for under $3 total.  I made Aaron's first and afterwards I realized a couple of mistakes that I had made.  Mine turned out better. ; ) Maybe I should have started with mine and let Aaron have the nice one.  

I love my new rug!  Hopefully it will keep out the fall wet and the winter slush from my kitchen.  Hopefully, I won't have to mop as much!

I need to figure out how to keep the date from showing up on the photo.  Stupid.

Hi world!

Remember me?  I do have a good excuse for not posting: I didn't have any internet for nearly 3 months.  To be honest, it didn't really bother me much. I enjoy having it, but it makes it a lot easier to avoid temptation and be productive when it simply isn't an option.
Anywho, here is a project I've been working on lately.  They are super easy and you can find tutorials for them all over the internet.  Here is one to check out.  I love them muchly.

What is true love?

True love is a guy still being willing to marry you after you backed his car into a lamp post while it wasn't even running.**

Ya, I don't even know how that is possible.

** To clarify, neither the car no the lamp post were running though I think the lamp post should of run once it saw me coming.

I am too cool

I made a couple of flower options for my hair on the big day. Unfortunately, they were off white but my dress is ivory. So what did I do....?

I just tea stained them ivory. I dunked them in English Breakfast Tea for about 15 seconds and they turned a beautiful ivory color. I am way too cool for my own good.

Wedding Finds

My two favorite places to shop for wedding decorations are Hobby Lobby (just watch the sale flyer and coupons and you can get amazing deals) and garage sales. Here are a couple of unexpected garage sale finds:

• We had wanted to have white Christmas lights but since they are out of season they cost about $8-11 per box. Yuck. I found 15 strands at a garage sale for $1 each. I made them untangle and test each one before I bought them. Kinda mean of me.
• I found an old box of picture frames at a garage sale for $5. They are all kind of old looking but there were about 20ish. I'm in the process of repainting them to make them all spiffy looking.
• Yesterday I found a huge box of multicolored floral ribbon (really papery feeling) at a garage sale for $2. We've already started using it and I have tons more ideas about what to do with it.

Yesterday, I had my minions, err...I mean friends come over and help me make tons of decorations. We made hundreds of different items! Still a bunch more to go though.
